75 Years a hostel – that’s a lot of memories

If Ninebanks Youth Hostel was a Top Trumps card we think its super power would be making memories. Last Sunday at the hostel’s 75th anniversary celebration we met a lot of people with some lovely memories of Ninebanks.
Melanie whose parents had first met at Ninebanks in 1948 was introduced to the grandchildren and great grandchildren of Jack Robinson who was warden at the time.
Stephen reminisced about bringing St John’s Ambulance Cadets to Ninebanks for the last 30+ years, with Paul who first visited as a teenager around the same time and still comes to stay several times a year. Paul gave a guided tour to Eunice and her daughter Yvonne, who saw major changes to the hostel since Eunice was warden back in the 60’s and shared their memories of living in this very special place.. Roger, who created Isaac’s Tea Trail which takes in Ninebanks, was able to meet up with Tea Trail Blogger Anne and talk with other guests who had enjoyed their walks along the trail.
It’s always lovely to have an excuse to bring in our neighbours too and they were delighted to hear some of the stories.
